The Senior trip to Disneyland was a smashing success. We started out at 5am and made the long trek to Disney. First stop was the beach. All the Seniors jumped in the ocean right away. The big group of “wild” Navajos caught the attention of other beachgoers! A few humored observers took photos and video. After playing in the water we visited a few shops.
Josh and Katy Catron hooked us up with a meal at the StoneFire Grill. Students enjoyed eating food that can’t be found in Gallup, New Mexico. After the scrumptious dinner everyone (or mostly everyone) rested up for the following day.
The well-rested group made it to Disneyland before lunch. We took a group photo at the Walt and Mickey statue. Some students were uncertain about the huge crowds so they stuck close to the sponsors. We rode as many rides as possible—Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
That evening we had mexican food and watched Fantastmic. When the dragon appeared in the production a few students loudly exclaimed, “Wow!” Once Fantasmic was over we visited California Adventure. Sponsors tanked up on heavily caffeinated Starbucks before the long night began.
California Adventure hosted Grad Nite. All students were locked in the park, but they had plenty to do. Some of the Seniors attended a dance at Flo’s V8 Cafe. [Bonus video of Ryan dancing below]. Other Seniors took advantage of the short lines by riding the Tower of Terror and the Cars ride. By 3am the Seniors were dog-tired. We jumped on the bus and headed home.
We all had a great time making memories at Disney!
